Formerly known as the International Business Council, the Fairfax Chamber’s Economic Council looks at global, national and regional economic issues with a particular eye for their impacts on the Northern Virginia business community.

Each year this group convenes for an Economic Outlook featuring a high profile economist and a panel of regional executives discussing the outlook for the coming year for the region and its highest profile industries. Featured economists have included the top international economist from The Economist magazine and David Rubenstein, founder and co-CEO of widely known venture capital firm The Carlyle Group. Companies featured on these distinguished expert panels have included Northrop Grumman, Accenture, Verisign, Kaiser Permanente, HSBC and others.

The group also convenes for quarterly forums on top economic issues.
