What geographic area does the Chamber cover?
Geographic boundaries don’t define the Fairfax Chamber. The Fairfax Chamber represents more than 600 businesses with nearly 500,000 employees across Northern Virginia, and even some in other areas of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Companies that call the Fairfax Chamber home are those focused on building and enhancing business-to-business and business-to-government relationships. There are nine other more localized Chambers is Fairfax County and many more in surrounding counties that focus more on business-to-consumer sales. The Fairfax Chamber addresses business concerns that stretch across geographic boundaries, and brings together businesses, nonprofits and government leaders to collaborate on important issues critical to moving the Northern Virginia region forward.
What type of events do you provide?
The Chamber’s core areas of focus are: Government Contracting, Health Care, Women in Business, Corporate Social Responsibility, Global Economy, NOVAForward (issues like real estate and development; transportation; workforce development; education and more critical to moving the region forward), Chamber Traditions (annual Golf Tournament, Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards & Chair’s Luncheon, and Holiday Reception), Business Development & Business Issues, and Policy (which includes NOVABizPAC, the Chambers Political Action Committee). Is Chamber membership by company or individual?
Fairfax Chamber membership is by company. Your company can have as many representatives as you like. We encourage individuals from member companies to become involved and engaged in Chamber committees and councils. All individuals employed by a member company receive member benefits and member pricing for events.

How is the Chamber structured and governed?
The Chamber is a 501(c)(6) membership organization. A volunteer Board of Directors, headed by a Chair, Officers and Executive Committee, elected annually, sets the policy and agenda for the organization. The Executive Committee carries out monthly oversight. A full-time president and a staff of 12 carry out the Chambers day-to-day operations. The Fairfax Chamber is one of only two Chambers in the D.C. metro area that employees a full time lobbyist to advocate for Northern Virginia businesses at the regional, state and federal levels.
